I’m Talking Balls!
Just a quick plug for an event I’m speaking at next week – and it’s all for a good cause! I’ve been invited by Rockley Rotary Club to deliver a workshop at an event they’ve organised to raise funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity and it’s all happening next week!
We’ve called it ‘Leading, Managing and Motivating Your Team – Keeping All Those Balls In The Air!” and as ever, it will be a practical, motivational, even humourous session aimed at anyone who leads and manages others.
It’s sure to be a great night, so if you’re in the Yorkshire area on the evening of August 11th. It’s just off junction 37 of the M1 and we’d love to see you there!

We’ve Got ‘Linked-In’!
We’ve got ‘Linked In’! We’ve set up a group on ‘Linked in’ for likeminded entrepreneurs and business leaders, and it’s called ‘Compete Or Get Beat!’
It’s got a simple aim: ‘to encourage the exchange of ideas, engagement and connections between like-minded thinkers on improving competitiveness, leadership and profitability’. If you regularly read this blog, then that probably means you!
To be honest, it’s a learning exercise for me – not quite sure how it will all work, but I thought it’s worth a go.
Feel free to join, and if you do, please ‘contribute’ and ‘add value’ to it…..oh, and please tell other ‘like-minded’ people too!
And Now For Something ‘Wheely Different’!
I’m speaking at a wheely interesting event in Sheffield next week. It takes place on the Sheffield Wheel (yes, we do have a ‘Sheffield Wheel’!) on Friday 20th November. The event is for local entrepreneurs wanting to get off the ‘merry go round’ of running a business for a short while and are looking for ideas to improve and differentiate their business.
There’s a chance to get some amazing views of our fine city and all its highlights (yes, you can see Bramall Lane from it), and to mix in ‘new circles’ network with like minded entrepreneurs.

I’m Back…….and Blogging!
What a strange 2 weeks – we got invaded! The website has been down for some time because apparently our security was breached and some ‘baddies’ got in and kicked us out. Not sure exactly what it all means, but the good news is that I’m now back ‘blogging’. Thanks to Andy at Voddie for getting us up and running.
It’s quite interesting actually – in my never ending ‘willingness’ to find ‘learning’ from things that have gone wrong, it’s fair to say that if it had happened, say 12 months ago, I’d have been frustrated, but not sure it would have been that impactful. This time, it’s felt like having my right arm cut off – not being able to ‘communicate’ and ‘connect’. They’re my thoughts anyway – maybe most people didn’t notice I was ‘away’!
Anyway, the good news is that we’re back up and running and watch out for my latest podcast about ‘profitability’ – due out in the next couple of days for download.
Andy’s Yorkshire and Humberside Tour!!
Andy has been asked to be the speaker at a series of business seminars throughout Yorkshire and Humberside organised by Business Link Yorkshire in July and September. Due to funding from Business Link there is no charge for these events.
Andy will be leading these interactive seminars for local business leaders aimed at helping them look at their own competitiveness, their sales and marketing and their approach to customer care. Not a list of do’s and dont’s, but practical ideas to help create and sustain real competitive advantage.
’3D Thinking’ Now On Facebook!
I’ve set up a ‘Thinking in 3D’ Facebook Group. Absolutely no idea whether it’s a good move, or a complete waste of time, but here goes.
Feel free to join (and contribute!). The aim is to link like minded people interested in sharing ideas on improving sales and marketing, creating and sustaining competitive advantage, maximising customer relationships, and all that stuff.
If that’s you, click here.
