A new report by Hubspot has revealed the increasing power of blogs in marketing and lead generation. Apparently more and more of us are blogging and crucially, are finding benefits in this when it comes to lead generation. In fact, apparently you are in the minority if you do not blog! Now, these are US statistics, but it’s clearly an interesting shift!
What I found really interesting is that according to the research, blogs and social media channels are generating real customers: 57% who use blogs reported that they acquired customers from leads generated directly from their blog.
I can honestly say that I’m not aware of any clients created directly as a result of my blog (maybe I’m doing it wrong!), but I do know from feedback it has certainly ‘influenced’ decisions as to whether to engage me to speak at a conference or event (er…. in a positive way that is!).
The last ‘snippet’ from the Hubspot report suggests that businesses do value their blogs: 85% rated their company blogs as “useful,” “important,” or “critical,” a whopping 27% rated their company blog as “critical” to their business.
